Wanakita began as an all-boys camp and during its early years, the nurse was the only woman who was regularly on the camp grounds. In 1969, the camp started offering the same opportunities to girls. [5] Since 1991, Wanakita has partnered with Hemophilia Ontario and offered instruction on the proper use of clotting agents. [6] [7]

Camp B'nai Brith moved to its current location in 1929. [6] All capital and operating costs were financed by Mount Royal Lodge until 1942, when Camp B'nai Brith became a constituent agency of the Combined Jewish Appeal. Camp Northway, formerly Northway Lodge, is the oldest summer camp for girls in Canada, and overall Canada's fourth oldest summer camp. [1] It was founded in 1906 and relocated to Algonquin Park, Ontario, in 1908. The camp has maintained a distinctive ethos of simple camping, crafts, and drama.
