The South West Coast Path is England's longest waymarked long-distance footpath and a National Trail.It stretches for 630 miles (1,014 km), running from Minehead in Somerset, along the coasts of Devon and Cornwall, to Poole Harbour in Dorset.

The Tamara Coast to Coast Way is a 87-mile (140 km) walking route in England from Cremyll on the south coast of Cornwall to Morwenstow on its north coast. The route largely follows the River Tamar, which rises less than 4 miles (6.4 km) from the north coast, and is mostly in Cornwall with some sections in Devon.

St Loy's is within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), the Boscawen SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and is part of a GCR Geological Conservation Review site. The South West Coast Path passes through the cove.
