"Step by Step" is a crossover song co-written and recorded by American country music artist Eddie Rabbitt. It was released in July 1981 as the first single and title track from the album Step by Step. The song was Rabbitt's ninth number one single on the country chart.
This ability is believed to be unrelated to the male Eleonora cockatoo's natural courtship display, which is described as "simple and brief" and involves strutting towards the female with crest raised, whilst bobbing and swishing his head in a figure-eight movement and "uttering soft, chattering notes all the while".
It is white, with a large yellow crest that it can raise. It is 45–55 cm (18–22 in) long, weighing 550–600 g (19–21 oz) and can live up to 40 years. [5] [6] This subspecies differs from the Australian greater sulphur-crested cockatoo in that it is smaller, with broader crest feathers and has a pale blue periophthalmic ring instead of white.
Several species have a brightly coloured bare area around the eye and face known as a periophthalmic ring; the large red patch of bare skin of the palm cockatoo is the most extensive and covers some of the face, while it is more restricted in some other species of white cockatoo, notably the corellas and blue-eyed cockatoo.
