The official audio of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa was released at the BAFTA Awards held at London on 25 December 2009, which was attended by several film personalities, including the lead actors Silambarasan and Trisha, composer A. R. Rahman, lyricist Thamarai, director Gautham Vasudev Menon amongst others attending the event, which also featured a live unplugged performance.
"Hosanna/Hosaanaa" is a Tamil/Telugu/Hindi song from the 2010 Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa,Telugu film Ye Maaya Chesave and 2012 Hindi film Ekk Deewana Tha composed by A. R. Rahman, sung by Vijay Prakash and Suzanne D'Mello featuring Tamil lyrics by Thamarai, and the rap portion in all versions by Blaaze.
"Aaromale" (transl. O Beloved) is a song from the 2010 Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and Telugu film Ye Maaya Chesave composed by A. R. Rahman, [1] featuring lyrics by Kaithapram and the word Aaromale frequently used in the 2012 Hindi version of the song in the film Ekk Deewana Tha with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
The film was simultaneously shot in Tamil as Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa starring Simbu and Trisha. The film received positive reviews from critics and was successful at the box office. [4] It was remade in Hindi as Ekk Deewana Tha. [5] The film is considered as one of the "25 Greatest Telugu Films Of The Decade" by Film Companion. [6]
Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu marked Rahman's third collaboration with Menon after Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010) and Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (2016); fourth with Silambarasan after the former two films and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018). [1] As with Menon's previous films, Thamarai penned the lyrics for all the songs in the film.
Gautham Vasudev Menon (born 25 February 1973) is an Indian film director, screenwriter, film producer and actor who predominantly works in Tamil film industry. [2] He has also directed Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films that were either simultaneously shot with or remakes of his own Tamil films.
Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn (transl. The number Karthik dialed) is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language short film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.A sequel to his feature film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (2010), it stars Silambarasan and Trisha reprising their roles from that film.
