As Kartini is a Christian and her husband was a Muslim, they performed their marriage in front of pendeta (Christian priest) as well as a penghulu (Muslim chieftain). In 1988, Putri began her business education by studying at National University, California, in Inglewood, California, United States to obtain a master's degree.
