Sign up for Medicare. If you're 65 or older, you can enroll online for Parts A and B, or Part A only. You can delay Part B if you're already covered through an employer group health plan. The application is for retirement benefits and Medicare, or Medicare only. Apply online.
You can use our online application to sign up just for Medicare and wait to apply for your retirement or spouses benefits later. It takes less than 10 minutes, and there are no forms to sign and usually no documentation is required.

Visit the Medicare website to: Compare and choose Part C (Medicare Advantage) and Part D (prescription drug coverage) plans. Find Medicare providers. View your claims. View and pay your Medicare bill. Go to Medicare.gov. You’ll sign up for Part A and Part B through Social Security.
The easiest way to apply for Medicare is by using our online application or you can make an appointment by calling us at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information read our Medicare publication.
Sign up for Part B only. Part B helps pay for your basic healthcare services. If you already have Part A, you can add Part B during specific enrollment periods. It's important to sign up promptly to avoid gaps in coverage or late enrollment penalties.
