The Blue Santa program in the city of san Antonio has distributed over 100s of thousands of toys to disadvantaged children and families. Many SAPD officers involve their families in collecting toys and raising funds year-round. This has become our family tradition.
A child unwrapping a new toy and smiling brings happiness year round. We’re accepting applications from November 1st through December 10th. The application times are now open, 24 hours. To become a family we serve, fill out an application at any of the substations listed here.
What began as a small wave of compassion by Officer Preston and his buddies over 41 years ago, has become an ocean of giving that has brought smiles to countless children and is a source of heartfelt goodwill from San Antonio’s men and women in blue. For all involved, it’s the color of Christmas.

When passing out gifts, our officers deliver them while they’re on duty. Each substation receives gifts and they are delivered by different officers throughout San Antonio. Some officers will attempt to call you before arriving at your home, but not all officers will call.
