We discussed the issue after I had emailed SAS. We checked the map and saw that the hotel is three miles from the airport, in the opposite direction of the cruise port. We know they need to keep the shuttle moving back and forth from the port, so using the hotel shuttle from the airport is now Plan B.
We used SAS Transportation (http://www.ridesas.com or 1-954-600-0240) recently from MIA to our Fort Lauderdale area hotel.

Posted August 15, 2022. We stayed at Hilton Garden Inn Fort Lauderdale airport when we flew into FLL for Miami cruise. It was fine for quick overnight before going to Miami port in the morning. As of yet, and it is 9:29PM I have not heard back from Steve or SAS shuttle, so I may not receive a call. I did check out the prices of Lyft and Uber, and they do run from $40 - $45 for either, pp. Yes I agree, $15 pp is much cheaper than the Lyft/Uber price.
