In 1959, Simonds and Woodland Elementary Schools were built, followed the next year by Sixma Elementary. East Elementary school was built in 1961. The third, and present, Lamphere High School opened in 1961 after only several months of construction, leaving the 6th-through-8th graders as sole occupants of the now-renamed Page Middle School.
