The 2021–22 WRU Championship (or Admiral Championship for sponsorship reasons) was the ninth season of the WRU Championship, the second tier of club rugby in Wales run by the Welsh Rugby Union. The league expanded to a 14 team format, up from 12 in previous seasons.
There was no relegation last season following an expansion from 12 to 14 teams for the 2023–24 season. [3] [4] On 28 March 2023, Llanelli RFC declared their intention to withdraw and focus on player development. [5] The league started on 2 September with 13 clubs.
