The Rising Star cave system (also known as Westminster or Empire cave) is located in the Malmani dolomites, in Bloubank River valley, about 800 meters (0.50 miles; 2,600 feet) southwest of Swartkrans, part of the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site in South Africa. [1] [2] Recreational caving has occurred there since the 1960s. [2]
Tomnadashan Copper Mine. Tomnadashan was a hamlet southwest of Ardtalnaig in Scotland. John Campbell, 2nd Marquess of Breadalbane tried to mine copper, gold, and sulphur there in the 19th century but was unsuccessful. [1] [2] The copper mine is best known as the filming location for the Cave of Caerbannog scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

The former includes the caves Hohlenstein-Stadel, Vogelherd and Bocksteinhöhle, the latter Geissenklösterle, Hohle Fels and Sirgenstein Cave. Each valley would contain a core area of around 3 to 4 km (1.9 to 2.5 mi) length, surrounded by a buffer zone of a least 100 m (330 ft) width. [11]
