St. Patrick High School is an all-boys college preparatory Catholic high school located in the Belmont-Cragin neighborhood on the northwest side of Chicago, Illinois. Opened in 1861, it is among the oldest continuously open high schools in the Chicago area.
The historic building sat vacant until 1973, when Sister Mary Watson, O.P. (1934-2021) of the Racine Dominican order, seized upon the previously unrecognized potential of the abandoned school building. So, she initiated a free meal program for senior parishioners of St. Patrick’s Church, which is located next door.
