Norumbega Castle is a historic house at 63 High Street in Camden, Maine. John Gooch, the first settler in the Cape Neddick area, arrived in the area 1637. [1] At some point, he established the Inn, and, by 1667, he was commissioned by Ferdinando Gorges, an agent of King Charles II, to "reside on the ocean-front peninsula at the mouth of the Kennebunk River and ferry travellers across the River."

Work on the new hotel — named the Hotel Bar Harbor — began in 1950. The work incorporated the Reading Room but also included the addition of a 40-room wing. [8] In 1960, a 20-room motel overlooking Frenchman Bay was added to the hotel. [8] David J. Witham purchased the hotel in 1987 and changed the name to the current Bar Harbor Inn. [8]

The Old Orchard Beach Inn is prominently located in the center of Old Orchard Beach, on the west side of Portland Avenue (Maine State Route 8), opposite the town hall. It is a 2 + 1 ⁄ 2-story wood-frame structure, with two large blocks, that on the left offset to the rear. Both have side-gable roofs and are finished in clapboard siding.
