APA style (also known as APA format) is a writing style and format for academic documents such as scholarly journal articles and books. It is commonly used for citing sources within the field of behavioral and social sciences , including sociology, education, nursing, criminal justice, anthropology, and psychology.
Citation templates can be used to format citations in a consistent way. The use of citation templates is neither encouraged nor discouraged: an article should not be switched between templated and non-templated citations without good reason and consensus – see "Variation in citation methods" , above.

For citations to the American Psychological Association (APA) Dictionary of Psychology. It auto-fills the name of the dictionary, date and publisher. Template parameters [Edit template data] This template prefers inline formatting of parameters. Parameter Description Type Status title title The name of the dictionary entry Example Central nervous system (CNS) String required shortlink ...
Inline citations are usually small, numbered footnotes like this. [1] They are generally added either directly following the fact that they support, or at the end of the sentence that they support, following any punctuation. When clicked, they take the reader to a citation in a reference section near the bottom of the article.
