Lake Petenwell is an artificial lake on the Wisconsin River in central Wisconsin. It is located in Adams, Juneau, and Wood counties next to Castle Rock Lake. It covers over 23,000 acres (93 km 2) and is 42 feet (13 m) deep. Lake Petenwell is Wisconsin's second largest lake at 23,040 acres (93.2 km 2) or approximately 36 square miles (93 km 2).
It is located in central Wisconsin in Adams County and Juneau County. The lake has an inflow from Petenwell Lake, Yellow River, Big Roche a Cri., and Klien Creek. [1] It has a surface area of 16,640 acres (67.3 km 2) and its depth varies from 8–20 ft (2.4–6.1 m) in most places, with area in the old river beds reaching as deep as 35 ft (11 m).

In 1984, the park was named Tom Bass Regional Park. [9] Following his time in office, Bass helped to establish the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network in 1983, and continued to serve as the head of its board of managers. The 9-1-1 Headquarters Building was renamed the Tom Bass Building in 2008 to honor Bass’ contributions.
