Mikiya surprises Tomoe by bringing him to his childhood home where Tomoe regains his memories and realizes that he "has a home" and will fight for his own sake, not Shiki's. During the flashback, we learn that Tomoe's key was important to him because his father told him that it was a symbol of how the members of their family protected each other.
