Century City is a 176-acre (71.2 ha) neighborhood and business district in Los Angeles, California, United States.Located on the Westside to the south of Santa Monica Boulevard around 10 miles (16 km) west of downtown Los Angeles, Century City is one of the most prominent employment centers in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, and its skyscrapers form a distinctive skyline on the city's westside.
The second building was the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, designed by architect Minoru Yamasaki (1912–1986), and built from 1964 to 1966. In 1965, the Century Freeway was added to the state system originated at State Route 1 (Sepulveda Boulevard) east to Central Avenue in the City of Los Angeles along an alignment very near to the current right-of-way. [11] The current route was added to the Interstate system in 1968.
