Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts was established by the Technical Education Board of the London County Council on 10 January 1898, in a building beside the South London Gallery, with the financial support of John Passmore Edwards and following advocacy by Edward Burne-Jones, Lord Leighton, Walter Crane and G. F. Watts.
It also runs graduate and postgraduate courses in fine art as well as design courses such as graphic design, illustration and 3D design. It has been ranked as the top British art school by The Times. [1] It was established as the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts in 1898, and adopted its present name in 1989. [2]
Central Saint Martins is a constituent college of the University of the Arts London, a public art university in London, England. [2] [3] The college offers full-time courses at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and a variety of short and summer courses.

The London Institute became a legal entity in 1988, could award taught degrees from 1993, was granted University status in 2003 and was renamed University of the Arts London in 2004. [ 5 ] In August 2000 Cordwainers College , a specialist school for leather-working , shoemaking and saddlery , was merged with the London College of Fashion.

The School of Art merged with the Hammersmith School of Art, founded by Francis Hawke, to form the Chelsea School of Art in 1908.
