State Route 164 (SR 164) is part of Maine's system of numbered state highways. It runs 23.6 miles (38.0 km) from Presque Isle to Caribou.It begins at an intersection with U.S. Route 1 (US 1) just north of downtown Presque Isle and travels northwest along the Aroostook River to Crouseville and Washburn.

When first designated in 1931, the western terminus of SR 223 was at US 1 (modern SR 164) in downtown Caribou at the intersection of High Street and Main Street. The highway followed entirely new routing from downtown to the current terminus at US 1A (then SR 165). In 1953, SR 89 was extended west to downtown Caribou along existing SR 223.
