Rising (stylised RISING) is a city-wide arts festival held in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia.The festival was announced in 2020 as Naarm/Melbourne's premier arts and culture festival, replacing the Melbourne International Arts Festival and White Night Festival, and is supported by the Victoria State Government.
The festival changed its name to the Melbourne International Festival of the Arts in 1990. It then became known as Melbourne International Arts Festival from 2003, becoming commonly known as Melbourne Festival. [2] [3] The Festival was later renamed Melbourne International Arts Festival, which it retained until 2019. [4]

In 2018, the festival collaborated with the Pulima Art Festival, an Indigenous arts festival in Taiwan, with a "Festival in Festival" program. [ 5 ] The most recent festivals were held from 6-16 May 2021 [ 6 ] and 4–14 May 2023, with the next festival scheduled for 1-11 May 2025.
