In 1957, the decision was made to expand the school's enrollment as a day school to accommodate a growing Catholic population on Long Island and in the next year, enrollment increased from 40 to approximately 125. The school continued to grow, both in enrollment and with additional facilities on the Smithtown campus until 1984.
The school was founded by St. Patrick's Church as a parish nursery school in 1956. [1] In 1966, the school began adding grades 1 through 6. [1] In 1985 the church moved its chapel to the current site adjacent to the school. [1] The school began a seventh and eighth grade program in 2001.
