Stuart is a town in Patrick County, Virginia, United States, where it is the county seat. [5] The population was 1,408 at the 2010 census. The town of Stuart was named after Confederate Gen. J.E.B. Stuart, of nearby Ararat, Virginia.

The state highway runs 1.65 miles (2.66 km) from U.S. Route 460 Business (US 460 Business) north to US 460 and SR 24 within Appomattox.
