Mar 1, 2011, 11:02 PM. Re: Meguiars Glass cleaner vs Windex. Windex contains detergents and ammonia which will strip away your cars LSP if there is any over spray. Another good point is that windex is not safe on tinted windows. The ammonia will peal your vehicles window tint right off.

Re: Auto Glass cleaning -- HELP ME The Sprayway is actually pretty good stuff, but no glass cleaner is going to do the job all by itself. If you over use anything - Sprayway, Stoner's, our own Perfect Clarity, etc - it will self dry on the glass.
Glass cleaner? May 30, 2020, 09:37 PM. So, it's been a while since I've been doing some proper detailing - what I had was a bunch of Stoner's and/or NXT Glass cleaner. Well, Stoner's still seems to be available, but now I see a "Perfect Clarity" with Meguiar's, and I've no idea how it compares to the older NXT Glass cleaner that I used to use.
Many people seem to like Ultimate Quik Detailer or even Ultimate Quik Wax on their glass, but we still caution against over use of these products, especially on the windshield. The reason we don't recommend this is because so many people have this attitude of "if some is good, more is better" and they end up seriously over using products.

On our Dutch Meguiar's forum someone posted a tip about using Glass Cleaner (Detailer line) as a detailer spray, his tip was: Spray from a distance of about 1 meter a mist of Glass Cleaner on the car's surface, then take it off. According to him it removes all kinds of dirt from the surface.

I mean my gallon will dilute to 11 gallons of cleaner...pretty much a lifetime for me. Nothing can compare if you grab any RTU product.

I have tried both and I actually like the D Line glass Cleaner better since 1 gallon of concentrate makes 11 gallons of glass cleaner.
