The good news is that since Weber makes both propane and natural gas versions of its grills, the easiest way to do a conversion is to replace your grill's manifold with the one made for the other fuel type. For example, if you've got a Genesis 1000 propane grill, you need a Genesis 1000 natural gas manifold.

Of course, if convert the grill with a new regular hose with regulator built in, the regulator is right at the tank and much less prone to locking up when opening the tank.

Like Bob said Weber never made an LP/NG grill. But they did make a lot of grills like you're looking at. IMHO The 1000-3000 genesis grills are the best of that style of grill. With the thirteen flavorizer bars instead of five on the latter silver B grills. Your big concern from where you live is rust, I know I grew up in Franklin Park.
