Tsukasa (司) is the protagonist of the .hack//Sign anime series. While his body is in a coma, his consciousness remains active in The World through his Wavemaster persona. His avatar is a young, silver-haired boy clad in gray robes. Morganna uses Tsukasa's negative emotions to poison Aura and prevent her awakening.
Gen Shishio (志々尾 限, Shishio Gen) first appeared in volume 6 of the manga and in episode 21 of the anime. Shishio aids Tokine and Yoshimori in hunting ayakashi and protecting Karasumori. He is an "integrated half ayakashi" (ayakashi majiri), meaning he can transform part or all of his body into that of an ayakashi.
Shishio Makoto (志々雄 真実) is the leader of the Juppongatana and the primary antagonist of the Kyoto arc. Shishio was Kenshin's successor as hitokiri for the Ishin Shishi. When the new Meiji government discovered Shishio's insatiable lust for power, they attempted to kill him and lit his body on fire.
