Aptos (Ohlone for "The People") [4] is an unincorporated town in Santa Cruz County, California, United States. The town is made up of several small villages, which together form Aptos: Aptos Hills-Larkin Valley, Aptos Village, Cabrillo, Seacliff, Rio del Mar, and Seascape. [3] Together, they have a combined population of 24,402.

The development of Seascape Beach Resort on land known as the Seascape Benchlands began with the Aptos Seascape Corporation in the 1960s. The Seascape Benchlands property was purchased by The Holcomb Corporation in the 1980's and Seascape Beach Resort was built and developed by The Holcomb Corporation and Seascape Resort Ltd. in the 1990's.

The original 18-hole golf course at Silverado opened 70 years ago in 1955, and is now the North Course. In 1966, it was re-designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and the South Course was added. The resort also has 16 tennis courts, 10 swimming pools, 280 guest condo hotel units and private cottage suites.
