If we extrapolate the exponential growth of anime (not necessarily realistic), the number of anime ever doubles about every 10 years. Half of all anime came after 2009. By 2030, 500 anime series will come out every year and there will be over 9000 series. Projected Anime Per Year. Projected Cumulative Anime TV Series. And here's the table I used:
Archived post. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. Well, the MAL database has around 11000 anime, including OVA's/ONA's/other stuff. To really find out how many episodes there are you should try to make/find a script. Roughly 11,000 entries between TV, Film, Specials, OVA's etc. I think 10000+. EDIT: Source is MAL.

There are so many anime shows that have a huge fan base with seemingly 100s of anime that are viewed as the best anime ever. I used to watch TV shows for like a year and although I've watched a lot of good ones, most of the time finding something new to watch was a big struggle with everything being a mystery.
Still, this is generally just how anime is. I wouldn’t really call it “cancelled” though just because anime generally only green lights one season at a time. Shows don’t just continue until being cancelled. Each season has to be greenlit. So, Zom 100 will need to have a s2 announcement before continuing. 4.

There's too much anime to watch these days. Discussion. When I was an anime fan a few years ago, I wanted to see every anime there was. I was used to watching Naruto, Pokemon, Dragon Ball Z and the other Toonami anime. I wanted to watch more. I then started to watch a few more anime over the years, ranging from: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
FelixViator. • 3 yr. ago. It might be that so many good animes are unfinished because they ended before they got bad. Darling in the Franxx, if it had of 'ended' at episode 12, a lot of people probably would have said it was a good unfinished anime. But we got those last couple of episodes and now it's not that well regarded.
