This is a list of the NCAA Division I outdoor champions in the long jump. Measurement of the jumps was conducted in imperial distances (feet and inches) until 1975. Metrication occurred in 1976, so all subsequent championships were measured in metric distances. The women's event began in 1982.

Matthew Boling. Matthew Boling (born June 20, 2000) is an American track and field athlete specializing in the sprints and long jump. He won four gold medals at the 2019 Pan American U20 Championships in the 100 m, 200 m, 4 × 100 m relay and 4 × 400 m relay, and helped set world under-20 records in both of the relay races for the United States.
Goodwin was a two-time NCAA champion in the long jump (2010, 2012) and a four-time All-American in track and field. He won five Big 12 Conference championships and made the All-Big 12 team seven times. He is the Longhorns' indoor record holder in the long jump and was the runner-up for the 2012 NCAA Indoor long jump title.

In high school, he set a national youth record in the long jump. As of 2021, he still has the 3rd longest long jump in U.S. high school history (26-8½ feet). [3] He was rated by Track and Field News to be the top high school long jumper in the country during his junior and senior years, and he was named a high school All American both years.
