Sec. 2. That Article IV, Section 22, Constitution of the State of Texas, be amended to read as follows: "Section 22. The Attorney General elected at the general election in 1974, and thereafter, shall hold office for four years and until his successor is duly qualified.
The proposed amendment adds a new Section to the Revenue Article of the Illinois Constitution that provides revenue generated from transportation related taxes and fees (referred to as “transportation funds”) shall be used exclusively for transportation related purposes.
Article 1 is the Texas Constitution's bill of rights. The article originally contained 29 sections; five sections have since been added. Some of the article's provisions concern specific fundamental limitations on the power of the state. The provisions of the Texas Constitution apply only against the government of Texas.
