Laurel Mall is a shopping mall which opened in 1973 just northwest of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, United States.It features three current anchor stores, Boscov's, Dunham's Sports with one anchor jointly occupied by Planet Fitness and Hobby Lobby; TJ Maxx is a junior anchor. 10-theater Regal Cinemas and Aldi are outparcels.
Boscov's Inc. is a family-owned department store with fifty locations in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Ohio, Connecticut, West Virginia and Rhode Island. Twenty-six of these stores are located in Pennsylvania.
Boscov set his sights again on Monmouth Mall, which had been a successful store for Boscov's, and it reopened in 2011. He died in 2017 at age 87 after battling cancer .

The mall opened with anchors Boscov's, McCrory, and Woolco. [4] [14] Gee Bee opened at the mall in 1983 and was later replaced by Value City in 1993. [15] [16] [17] Boscov's outside tent collapsed due to inclement weather in July 1986, with only light injuries occurring. [18] In 1995, the Boscov's store was heavily reconstructed. [19]
The Bon-Ton closed in late April 2018, leaving Boscov's as the mall's only remaining anchor. [36] [37] Higher Hope Church used the former J. C. Penney for their meetings. [38] Family Practice Center took over the former Sears space, and remodeled it into a clinic with a 50-year lease. [39]
Albert Boscov (September 22, 1929 – February 10, 2017) was an American businessman and philanthropist. He was the long-time head of Boscov's Department Stores and served as the company's chairman and CEO until retiring in 2015. In 2009, Boscov led a buyout of the chain in order to rescue it from bankruptcy.
The mall is located at the intersection of PA Route 248 (Nazareth Road) and Park Avenue in Palmer Township, Pennsylvania. [1] The mall has over 50 stores and is anchored by a 192,110 square foot (17,848 m 2) Boscov's. [1] It has one vacant 122,125 square foot (11,346 m 2) anchor most recently occupied by The Bon-Ton. [1]
