School of Fish was an alternative rock band which formed in 1989 and disbanded in 1994. The core members were Josh Clayton-Felt (lead vocals and guitar) and Michael Ward (guitar). School of Fish released two albums and are remembered for the hit single "3 Strange Days" (1991).
The Calgary Herald noted that "neo-psychedelic guitar-grunge swirls beneath the surface of each song." [4] The San Diego Union-Tribune concluded that the band "concocted an irresistible brew of tough-guy guitars, sweet vocals and thoughtful lyrics that sounds like a cross between Free, the Babys and Crowded House."

Clayton-Felt was one of two children along with his sister Laura born to Jewish parents Marilyn (1938-2006), [2] a playwright and John J. Clayton, a writer. [3] [4] His parents later divorced and his mother would eventually remarry Henry Felt, a folk musician who exposed Clayton-Felt to the works of Lead Belly, Woody Guthrie, and Pete Seeger.
