The P14-45 (later 14.45) is the standard model, and as its name hints, it is chambered in .45 ACP and has a magazine capacity of 14. Other versions include P16-40 (16.40) chambered .40 S&W and features a 16-round magazine, and P18-9 (18.9) which is chambered in 9×19mm Parabellum and features an 18-round magazine.
Our idea took the challenge further: to commemorate the legendary Colt 1911-A1 in the Centenary by making a true industrial market-ready double barrel .45 caliber pistol. We achieved success in the brief span of 6 months, after intense and round-the-clock 3D designing, stereolithographic modeling and parts machining. [6]
The Model No. 3 is a Colt Commander-sized 1911 also chambered for .50 GI, with a shorter barrel but with a full-length grip. The M3 can also be fitted with a model-specific version of the company's .45 ACP conversion unit. Like its bigger siblings, the M3 magazines hold 7+1 rounds of .50 GI and 8+1 rounds of .45 ACP.
The Colt M1911 (also known as 1911, Colt 1911, Colt .45, or Colt Government in the case of Colt-produced models) is a single-action, recoil-operated, semi-automatic pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. [10]
Based on the M1911.45 ACP, this version is specifically designed to compensate for the 1911's heat absorption in high temperature environments with a polymer frame. BUL also provided the polymer frame to other firearms manufacturers for production of Springfield Armory, Kimber Polymer and Charles Daly Polymer 1911 pistol lines.
The AMT Hardballer is a series of pistols that are part of the 1911 platform (based on the .45 ACP M1911) made by Arcadia Machine & Tool (AMT) from 1977 to 2002. [1] The Hardballer was the first entirely stainless steel 1911 pattern pistol. [2] Other features included adjustable rear sights and a lengthened grip safety. [3]
The Colt Officer's Model or Colt Officer's ACP is a single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, and recoil-operated handgun based on the John M. Browning designed M1911. It was introduced in 1985 as a response from Colt to numerous aftermarket companies making smaller versions of the M1911 pistol.
The round has a rebated rim that is the same diameter as that of the .45 ACP. [1] [2] In 2006, Guncrafter Industries introduced its 1911 Model No. 2, which sports a full-length light rail/dust cover and is chambered for the .50 GI cartridge. Both the M1 and the M2 can be fitted with Guncrafter Industries' .45 ACP conversion unit.
