Isn't building a Hot Rod all about individuality, don't we build our cars to express ourself through our car's. A kit of a Hot Rod just takes all of that away. 1800dial-a-billet-rod was bad enough, but having kit-rod's is wrong.
1.Any original '32 Ford parts aren't cheap, especially if they're in good condition. 2.Most original '32 Ford parts aren't easy to find, especially if they're in good condition. 3.Most Hot Rodders aggressively seek to buy good '32 parts making them highly desirable and expensive. A good Hot Rodder won't let 1-3 stop them buildin' that '32 High Boy.
My goal is to capture the safety, drivability, and reliability of 20th century amenities in a car that drives and handles outstanding while maintaining the outwardly iconic look of a 32/33 Ford coupe. I’m 31 so I want a car that handles great that I can drive hard (not a show car).
from Indiana. I really want to build a steel 32 Ford and thought about starting with United Pacific 1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe Body. For body price tag of $22000, it's simply out of my price range. Is possible to build 32 Ford from body parts and weld them together any cheaper than new United Pacific 1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe Body?
from Milford, MI. I’ve recently had the chance to purchase a 32 roadster project from a great friend and mentor that I have known for over 25 years. He is 73, and this is the only 32 roadster project he has ever let go, so I feel humbled, and grateful for the opportunity to build this car! With that, I feel a responsibility to do this right ...
from Sylvan Lake. i need some help and advise towards my newly aquired 32 for 5w build. I’m gathering parts for this project and like most am on a tight budget. The car is as follows. 32 ford 5w coupe. Original 32 frame. 40 ford rear. 40 ford brakes, front and back. 32 heavy dropped front axel.
Considering the amazing job JustplainJ is doing on the glass '34 he got,as a Streetrod roller, and transforming it into a Traditional "appearing" Hotrod,I would give a glass car a second chance. Check out the tread he has on the build, then decide for yourself. The odds of finding a steel '32 "AND" being able to afford it,are pretty slim!
One of the 3 Chrysler cars built in 52 for the 53 race. That is the next project after I finish my 37 ford truck. In 6th picture on this thread you will see a picture of my 37, green - with black fenders, nose to nose with my son's black truck. MIDGET RACER, Feb 22, 2014. SHARE POST #19.
Buy Mike Bishop and Vern Tardel's book; "How to Build a Traditional Hot Rod". Memorize it and build your '32 roadster using their Model A roadster as a model. They built a Brookville repro steel '29 A body on an original A frame, but the principles are the same and they answered the questions you're asking.
1932 Ford K-member. Strengthening legs from Industrial Chassis. Kick-up strengtheners. Model-A rear crossmember modified to fit the '32 frame. This frame is now twice as rigid as a stock frame, which still isn't anywhere near as rigid as a boxed frame but this is for a flathead, right! edwardlloyd, Sep 13, 2016. SHARE POST #1.
