It depends on the class for me. I started leveling alts recently so I got a bit of a look at a lot of class guides, and depending on the writer the guides on Wowhead can be rather…poorly written. I always look at Wowhead first, but for a lot of those alts I ended up going to IV instead because the information ended up being presented better IMO.
Flavlless. •. Icy veins have great class guides which are simple to read . Wowhead is turning into news and clickbait outlet. Reply reply. Xclbr1. •. WoWhead just feels either more professionally put together or better astetically or something. Can't put my finger on it but I always prefer it over Icy Veins.
Please Blizzard, have WowHead stop and take over the website. It’s full of cookies, ads, datamining, and it’s causing my CPU to overload, fans revving up, and freeze every time. CPU usage spikes up to 90% and it’s ONLY when I use Wowhead. I have a 13th gen intel processor. The only way to stop is i have to open task manager and force quit. This has been happening more and more, and it ...
I have a good and powerful gaming PC. I live in a large city and have very good, reliable high speed internet. I have no issues running anything I want on it. But when I have multiple windows open and go onto WoWhead, If I am watching Twitch or doing anything, the browser just lags hard and locks up. Anyone else have this issue with the site?

As we’ve now completed three weeks of The War Within Season 1, we have enough data and feedback on class performance to allow us to do a broad pass on outliers in dungeon, raid, and PvP play. With scheduled weekly maintenance in each ...
You can revoke those permissions after the sweepstakes is done if you wish. Where the risk comes is always ads and that is not specific to Wowhead. They use a third party ad provider and if the ad provider does not catch it, there can be ads with malware in them. This goes for ANY website with ads on it.
My issue with wowhead is the ginormous amount of ads and scripts running in the background. If your cpu isn’t highest level quality you have significant gameplay drops with a wowhead page open enough to the point it’s incredibly frustrating. A source this big and so widely used, why do y’all have so much unnecessary shit on the page?
For icy veins and wowhead, the guides are typically written by a single person, maybe in collaboration with a few people. The people that write on wowhead rarely write guides on icy veins in my experience. Depending on the class, some of the guides may actually be written by top content creators and/or admins of class discords.
Wowhead has writers, some are the same as discords and some aren’t. For example, in early DF the prot paladin wowhead guide was absolutely garbage telling people wrong talents and gameplay. It was a running joke in the tank community just how bad it was.
Wowhead freezes chrome whenever their video ads load, wowhead seems to be the only website this happens on, why? Anyone else experience this with chrome and wowhead, it creates a memory leak, where if I do not ctrl-alt-delete and end task on chrome, it will climb in memory useage, one time it got up to 16GB of memory useage. This does not happen in Firefox, I have 0 extensions running, but a ...
