A few comments. To check the pdf against scifinder as-is (for someone using only one monitor/laptop screen) requires a lot of alt-tab window switching. Copying individual CAS numbers from the PDF into the Scifinder window (which can accept a text file or multiple lines) is not very efficient.
According to CAS, his visionary view of CAS' potential "led to expansion, modernization, and the forging of international alliances with other information organizations." [15] CAS was an early leader in the use of computer technology to organize and disseminate information. [16] The CAS Chemical Registry System was introduced in 1965.

A CAS Registry Number [1] (also referred to as CAS RN [2] or informally CAS Number) is a unique identification number, assigned by the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) in the US to every chemical substance described in the open scientific literature, in order to index the substance in the CAS Registry.
PubChem can be accessed for free through a web user interface. Millions of compound structures and descriptive datasets can be freely downloaded via FTP. PubChem contains multiple substance descriptions and small molecules with fewer than 100 atoms and 1,000 bonds. More than 80 database vendors contribute to the growing PubChem database. [2]

Many of these database companies use the same name for their file format as they do for their database (including Copac, CSA, ISI, Medline, Ovid, PubMed, and SciFinder). For the ability to retrieve citations from the particular databases (rather than the file format), please refer to the database connectivity table that is below this table.

[2] Using a CAS is very similar to using a web search engine. The primary difference is that a web search is generally performed on a topic basis using an internal algorithm that finds "related" content and then produces a list of locations. The results may be a list of the identical content in multiple locations.
