Gilbert Earl Patterson (September 22, 1939 [1] – March 20, 2007 [2]) was an American Holiness Pentecostal leader and pastor.He served as the founding pastor of the Temple of Deliverance COGIC Cathedral of Bountiful Blessings, one of the largest COGIC churches in the Eastern United States, from 1975 to 2007.
Gilbert Earl Patterson was born September 22, 1939, in the parsonage next door to the Church of God in Christ in Humboldt, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Bishop William Archie Patterson Sr. and Mary Louise Patterson.
He was the first person consecrated to the office of Adjutant Bishop in 2001 by then-Presiding Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson. He was appointed to the position of Commissioner of Ecclesiastical Services in 2008 by current Presiding Bishop, Bishop Charles E. Blake. He was succeeded by Bishop Matthew Williams of Orlando, FL.
