North Negros BioPower is a biomass-fired power station in Manapla, Negros Occidental in the Philippines.It is among the biggest biomass power stations in the Philippines and has a generating capacity of 25 megawatts, enough electricity to provide 265,000 people in the region's urban centres and rural areas on the island of Negros. Situated at Isla Grande, the Pagbilao Power Station began operations in 1993. [1] The power station was originally developed by Consolidated Electric Power Asia Ltd (CEPA), a subsidiary of Hopewell Holdings, CEPA was acquired by Mirant Philippines and was acquired by TeaM Energy, a joint venture of Japanese firms TEPCO and Marubeni, in 2007.
