The second and final season of the Assassination Classroom anime television series is adapted from Yūsei Matsui's manga series of the same name. Produced by Lerche and directed by Seiji Kishi, the second season aired between January 7, 2016 and June 30, 2016 and was simulcast by Funimation, who began releasing the broadcast dub version from February 10, 2016.

The plot focuses around everyday life of students of class 5-2 and more specifically around Ryōta and his group of friends over the course of their fifth grade. After fighting each other to a draw Lunar's father talks briefly with Lunar then leaves by disappearing into a nearby vat of molten steel. This episode is a slight parody of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Total Recall. An after credits scene reveals Maki has been locked in a cage by Gozaburo because of her actions in episode 8.
