Homero Gómez González (1969 or 1970 – January 2020) [1] was a Mexican environmental activist, agricultural engineer, and politician. He was a manager of El Rosario Monarch Butterfly Preserve, a component of the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve, and a municipal president [clarification needed] and commissioner of El Rosario, Michoacán, a community in Ocampo, Michoacán.
The population east of the Rocky Mountains attempts to migrate to the sanctuaries of the Mariposa Monarca Biosphere Reserve in the Mexican state of Michoacán and parts of Florida. The western population tries to reach overwintering destinations in various coastal sites in central and southern California.

El Rosario National Park (Spanish pronunciation: [el roˈsaɾjo]) is located in El Petén, Guatemala, on the eastern edge of the town of Sayaxché). The park is named after laguna El Rosario, a small lake within its boundaries, and was formerly a state owned finca managed by the National Forestry Institute (INAB). [1]
The site of El Rosario, located near the western coast among the northernmost Cochimí Indians, was chosen as the initial Dominican mission site. The location had been initially identified by the soldier José Velásquez in 1770 and had been favored by the Franciscans as a potential mission site.
It was established in 1977 to protect the coral reef on one of the islands in the Islas del Rosario archipelago, originally extending 178 km 2 (69 sq mi). In 1988, an area of 195 km 2 (75 sq mi) was incorporated, and finally in 1996 the park was expanded to the present area, 1,200 km 2 (460 sq mi), including Archipelago of San Bernardo .
Sierra del Rosario is a mountain range in the provinces of Pinar del Río and Artemisa, western Cuba. It is located in the eastern part of the Guaniguanico range and, along with the Sierra de los Órganos , is part of it.
