Jonesboro Historic District in Jonesboro, Georgia is a historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1972. [1]Jonesboro was the setting of much of the 1936 novel Gone with the Wind; the fictional houses Tara and Twelve Oaks were placed near it, in Clayton County.
Terry's Mill was owned and operated by Tom Terry (1823–1861) on Sugar Creek. The grist mill stood 800 yards downstream on Glenwood Ave. just east of I-20. It is cited in military annals recording the movements of Walker's and Bate's divisions of Hardee's corps to the Battle of Atlanta of July 22, 1864.

This cemetery was a burial site for Confederate soldiers who died in the Battle of Jonesboro in 1864. This cemetery is open daily until dusk.
