Long Island, NY. Bristlenose plecos are fantastic algae eaters. Clown pleco are not, the knaw on driftwood. Infact, driftwood is pretty much a must if you're going to keep clowns. Clowns are also more shy. Don't expect to see them very often unless they are very comfortable. I have 3 clowns in my 46G tank.

OK, I thought the killing spree was over once I got rid of the skunk botias. But this morning I saw my clown pleco resting on the head of the rubberlip pleco when I first turned the lights on. I thought, as a joke, "Maybe it's trying to suck the rubberlip's eye out or something." Right before I...

I have a clown pleco and a betta in a tank together, and I'm worried that the clown pleco isn't eating enough. He has eaten all the algae in my tank, so I got him algae wafers but I'm having trouble getting him to eat them. I feed him at night when the betta isn't swimming around, but when I drop in the algae wafer, the betta wakes up and eats it.

Comments: I have a single Clown Pleco in my 55g community tank. He is housed with Bloodfin and Glowlight Tetras, Kuhli Loaches, Ghost Shrimp, Guppies, a pair of German Blue Rams, a Bristlenose Pleco and Otos. I usually see my Clown Pleco every day, but that is only because I have some floating plants above the piece of driftwood he calls home.

I just got a clown pleco and he's quite cool looking, although apparently one of the more shy plecos. I've read on this board that the bristlenose plecos are the most active and have seen many recommendations for the albino bristlenose. I also have a yoyo loach and 3 cories, none of whom have had any problems with the others.
