The following is a list of stars with resolved images, that is, stars whose images have been resolved beyond a point source. Aside from the Sun , observed from Earth , stars are exceedingly small in apparent size, requiring the use of special high-resolution equipment and techniques to image.
The following is a list of particularly notable actual or hypothetical stars that have their own articles in Wikipedia, but are not included in the lists above. BPM 37093 — a diamond star Cygnus X-1 — X-ray source
In 2016, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) organized a Working Group on Star Names (WGSN) [2] to catalog and standardize proper names for stars. The WGSN's first bulletin, dated July 2016, [3] included a table of 125 stars comprising the first two batches of names approved by the WGSN (on 30 June and 20 July 2016) together with names of stars adopted by the IAU Executive Committee ...

The James Webb Space Telescope has captured new detailed portraits of 19 spiral galaxies filled with millions of stars and glowing gas and dust.
Radio-faint galaxies like M 31 and M33, the Milky Way's neighbors, have weaker fields (about 5 μG), while gas-rich galaxies with high star-formation rates, like M 51, M 83 and NGC 6946, have 15 μG on average. In prominent spiral arms, the field strength can be up to 25 μG, in regions where cold gas and dust are also concentrated.
The largest galaxies are called elliptical because they look like big globes of light emitted from a multitude of stars. The most famous elliptical galaxy is M87, which has up to 2.4 trillion stars.
The characteristics of Seyfert galaxies were first observed in M77 in 1908; however, Seyferts were defined as a class in 1943. [23] First radio galaxy: Cygnus A: Cygnus: 1951 Of several items, then called radio stars, Cygnus A was identified with a distant galaxy, being the first of many radio stars to become a radio galaxy.
