The Pacific West Conference women's basketball tournament is the annual conference women's basketball championship tournament for the Pacific West Conference (PacWest). The tournament has been held annually since 2013. It is a single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. [1]
The PacWest was formed in 1992 when the Great Northwest Conference (a men's conference) merged with the Continental Divide Conference (a women's conference containing some of the same members), in response to the departures of several members and new NCAA legislation requiring conferences to have at least six members. [2]
The 2025 CCAA/Curling Canada College Championships are currently being held from February 24 to 28 at the Lethbridge Curling Club in Lethbridge, Alberta. [1] The event is being hosted by the University of Lethbridge . [ 2 ]
The CCAA sponsors seven sports for women and six sports for men. Cross country, soccer and volleyball are fall sports; basketball is a winter sport; golf, outdoor track & field, softball, and baseball are spring sports. Throughout the years, CCAA teams have won 155 NCAA championships in their sports, which is best among all Division II conferences.
The Cascades women's basketball program has historically been one of the strongest at the school. While playing in the PacWest of the CCAA, the team won ten conference championships including five consecutively from 2001 to 2005. [11] The team also won seven silver medals in the PacWest conference championship tournament.
