[2] The company is headquartered at Kaiser Center, in Oakland, California.PG&E provides natural gas and electricity to 5.2 million households in the northern two-thirds of California, from Bakersfield and northern Santa Barbara County, almost to the Oregon and Nevada state lines.
In April 2024, another investigation by ABC News Sacramento discovered some PG&E customers were receiving bills for more than $1,000 for their alleged electricity usage.
The rate request comes amid a new year of rate hikes, with the average PG&E household paying an additional $34.50 on its monthly bill, and fears that electricity prices will continue to rise.
