The school got its mascot by student vote among Hawks, Falcons, and Eagles. The colors are derived from the black of Tennille High School (the Tigers) and the gold of Sandersville High School (the Satans). In 1970, the Washington County (WACO) school system fully integrated, and Washington County High started housing grades 11–12.
Brentwood School is an independent private school in Sandersville, Georgia. Brentwood School houses 15 grades in three different buildings throughout campus, K-3, K-4, and Kindergarten are found in the Lucy Nell Smith building. Grades 1-6 are found in the Linton Hall Building and grades 7-8 and 9-12 are all housed in the Upper School Building.

OFTC was created on July 1, 2011, as a result of the merger of Sandersville Technical College and Heart of Georgia Technical College. The merger was part of a statewide plan to reduce costs in the Technical College System of Georgia. [4] The school has two primary campuses, which were formerly the main campuses of its predecessor institutions.
