Welshpool (Welsh: Y Trallwng ⓘ) is a market town and community in Powys, Wales, historically in the county of Montgomeryshire. The town is four miles (six kilometres) from the Wales–England border and low-lying on the River Severn .

Gungrog is a geographical area which is part of Welshpool (English) Y Trallwng , Powys in Wales. It is a stretch of elevated ground which includes residential development but which also has significant areas of agricultural land. The area runs north to south on the western side of Welshpool.
