Eaters of the Dead: The Manuscript of Ibn Fadlan Relating His Experiences with the Northmen in AD 922 (later republished as The 13th Warrior to correspond with the film adaptation of the novel) is a 1976 novel by Michael Crichton, the fourth novel under his own name and his 14th overall.
Their play The War of 1812, a humorous retelling of the war of the same name replete with deliberately over-the-top pro-Canadian jingoism, produced another of the group's most famous song, "The White House Burned (The War of 1812)". The 13th Warrior is a 1999 American historical fiction action film based on Michael Crichton's 1976 novel Eaters of the Dead, [5] which is a loose adaptation of the tale of Beowulf combined with Ahmad ibn Fadlan's historical account of the Volga Vikings. It stars Antonio Banderas as Ahmad ibn Fadlan, as well as Diane Venora and Omar Sharif.

The song features prominently in the 1982 film Veronika Voss directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder. Sha Na Na appropriately performed the song as a part of a War of 1812 themed skit on their show. Cornershop covered the song as a bonus track for their 2009 album Judy Sucks a Lemon for Breakfast.
