Kabisay-an refers both to the Visayan people collectively and the islands they have inhabited since prehistory, the Visayas. The exact meaning and origin of the name Bisaya is unknown.
Tinikling is a traditional Philippine folk dance which originated prior to Spanish colonialism in the area.
