IELTS Academic and General Training both incorporate the following features: IELTS tests the ability to listen, read, write and speak in English. The speaking module is a key component of IELTS. It is conducted in the form of a one-to-one interview with an examiner which can occur face to face or even through a video conference.
It is also taken by candidates with some teaching experience who have received little practical teacher training or who wish to gain internationally recognised qualification. The MET is available both as a digital and as a paper-and pencil test, and may be taken as either a 2-skill exam (Listening and Reading) or a 4-skill exam (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking). The digital version of the MET can be taken either in a testing center, or at home, with a remote proctor.
