This is a list of law enforcement agencies in the state of Michigan.. According to the US Bureau of Justice Statistics' 2008 Census of State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies, the state had 571 law enforcement agencies employing 19,009 sworn police officers, about 190 for each 100,000 residents.

County police, often called county sheriffs in the United States, are police forces existing primarily in the United States that possess primary jurisdiction over an entire county. England and Wales , two constituent countries of the United Kingdom , are policed by territorial police forces largely formed on a county basis.
The museum includes displays on the history of the Kent County Constabulary which was established in 1857, as well as the fourteen earlier borough or city police forces, all of which had amalgamated with Kent County Constabulary by 1943.
